30 Minutes Before Departure – Meeting & Check-in

Please meet at the JD Adventure Travel office in Paracas approximately 30 minutes before your selected departure time. Our team will assist you with check-in and boarding arrangements before walking with you to the nearby marina.

Selected Departure Time – Boarding & Ballestas Islands Tour

Board your shared speedboat and begin an approximately 2-hour Ballestas Islands boat tour across Paracas Bay. Along the way, stop to admire the impressive Candelabra geoglyph before continuing towards the islands, where you may observe sea lions, Humboldt penguins and a wide variety of seabirds among dramatic cliffs, natural arches and rocky formations.

During the Boat Tour – Wildlife & Coastal Scenery

Your bilingual local guide will provide information about the wildlife, history and natural environment of the Ballestas Islands as you navigate around the main formations and observation points. Wildlife sightings vary according to natural conditions and cannot be guaranteed.

Approximately 2 Hours After Departure – Return to Paracas

After completing the circuit around the Ballestas Islands, the boat returns to Paracas. The tour concludes at the Paracas marina, approximately two hours after your selected departure time.

  • Motion Sickness: If you are prone to seasickness, we recommend taking your usual motion-sickness medication before the boat journey.
  • Wildlife Sightings: The Ballestas Islands are a natural environment; sightings of sea lions, penguins and seabirds may vary and cannot be guaranteed.
  • What to Bring: We recommend a light jacket, sun protection, a hat, sunglasses and water. Temperatures on the water can feel cooler than on land.

Cancellation Policy

  • Free Cancellation: Cancel at least 24 hours before the scheduled departure to receive a full refund.
  • Late Cancellations: Cancellations made less than 24 hours before departure are non-refundable.
  • Weather & Sea Conditions: If the Ballestas Islands route cannot operate due to adverse weather, sea conditions or instructions from the local maritime authorities, you may be offered the option to reschedule, join an authorised alternative coastal route such as Islas Blancas, or receive a refund.
  • No-Shows: No-shows are non-refundable. Guests must arrive at the JD Adventure Travel office at least 30 minutes before their selected departure time.
  • Late Arrival: Guests who arrive too late to complete check-in or join the scheduled boat departure will be considered a no-show, and no refund will apply.
