ITINERARY
Day-by-Day Itinerary
DAY 01 — Welcome to Lima
Arrive in Lima, where a private representative will meet you at the airport and accompany you to your hotel. After check-in, enjoy the remainder of the day at leisure to relax and settle into Peru’s vibrant capital.
DAY 02 — Discover Lima
Explore Lima on a privately guided tour, discovering the city’s historic centre, colonial architecture and some of its most distinctive neighbourhoods. Along the way, gain an introduction to Peru’s cultural heritage and contemporary life before returning to your hotel.
DAY 03 — Lima to the Sacred Valley
After breakfast, transfer privately to Lima Airport for your flight to Cusco. On arrival, continue by private vehicle into the Sacred Valley, allowing time to adjust gradually to the altitude while enjoying the changing Andean scenery. Arrive at your selected hotel and spend the remainder of the day at leisure.
DAY 04 — Explore the Sacred Valley
Spend the day exploring the Sacred Valley with your private guide, visiting remarkable Inca sites, traditional Andean villages and scenic viewpoints surrounded by dramatic mountain landscapes. The day is paced comfortably, with time to enjoy the valley before returning to your hotel.
DAY 05 — Machu Picchu
Travel to the station for the scenic train journey towards Machu Picchu. On arrival in Aguas Calientes, continue to the citadel and explore this extraordinary Inca site with your private guide, learning about its history, architecture and dramatic mountain setting. Afterwards, return to Aguas Calientes and continue by train and private transfer to your hotel.
DAY 06 — Discover Cusco
Explore Cusco with your private guide, discovering the historic centre, impressive Inca foundations and elegant colonial architecture. Visit some of the city’s most important landmarks while learning how Inca and Spanish influences continue to shape modern Cusco. The remainder of the day is yours to enjoy at leisure.
DAY 07 — Cusco at Leisure
Enjoy a relaxed day in Cusco with time to explore at your own pace, revisit favourite places or simply unwind at your hotel. If you prefer, optional experiences can be arranged in advance, including additional cultural visits, local dining experiences or time in the surrounding countryside.
DAY 08 — Return to Lima
After breakfast, transfer privately to Cusco Airport for your flight back to Lima. On arrival, continue with your private transfer to Lima International Airport for your onward journey, bringing your Essential Peru experience to a close.
