General Terms & Conditions
By registering for an tour or excursion, passengers (hereinafter, the Client or Clients) accept our terms and conditions, as set out in this document.
To our clients
Because many customers cancel their tours hours or even minutes (unbelievable as it may seem) before the scheduled start time, we feel it’s necessary to establish some guidelines to ensure we can continue operating respectfully and appreciate the efforts and services provided by our professional team at JD Adventure Tours (tour guides, drivers, coordinators, etc.).
For your information, please note that when you book a tour, you will be assigned at least one guide and one driver for that time slot. Booking a guide and driver may require them to cancel work commitments with other companies or participate in other activities they have scheduled for those dates.
Please be aware that upon booking and confirming your tour, we immediately begin preparations, including purchasing tickets, paying taxes, and any other charges related to your tour. We do this in advance to guarantee that you won’t miss any of the sites or attractions included in your itinerary.
For this reason, it wouldn’t be fair for you to cancel a tour you booked hours or minutes before it was due to start and then decide not to pay for it. Therefore, we have established the following policy:
1. TOURS IN PISCO, ICA, AND NAZCA:
GENERAL CONDITIONS:
Once your booking is confirmed, it is very important that you send us your passport number, as it is necessary to issue the invoice to the Peruvian government and comply with our mandatory business declarations. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation during this process. This information will be kept confidential between you and us and will only be used for the purposes mentioned above. Thank you for your understanding.
CANCELLATIONS:
If you cancel at least 24 hours before the start of the tour, you will receive a 100% refund. However, bank or administrative fees will be the responsibility of the client and will be deducted from the refund amount.
If you cancel on the day of the tour, no refund will be issued.
RESCHEDULING:
Rescheduling must be done at least 1 day (24 hours) in advance; no additional charges will apply.
If you request to reschedule the visit on the same day, an additional charge of 50% of the value of the visit will apply.
VERY IMPORTANT:
In the event that the tour must be cancelled due to adverse weather conditions or by decision of the port or airport authorities, we will offer you the following three alternatives:
- Postpone your tour to the next available departure.
- Join an alternative tour of equal value.
- Receive a full refund of your payment.
We are committed to providing flexibility and transparency, ensuring your experience in our tours is enjoyable, safe, and fair under all circumstances.
2. FOR SHORE EXCURSIONS FROM THE PORT OF CALLAO:
GENERAL CONDITIONS:
Once your booking is confirmed, it is very important that you send us your passport number, as it is necessary to issue the invoice to the Peruvian government and comply with our mandatory business declarations. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation during this process. This information will be kept confidential between you and us and will only be used for the purposes mentioned above. Thank you for your understanding.
PAYMENT:
Dear customer, since this is a shared excursion, we will only charge you the minimum rate for 16 participants. You will need to pay the difference in cash on the day of the excursion, based on the final number of participants. Don’t worry; we will inform you one day in advance about the number of people in your group.
CANCELLATIONS:

3. FOR PACKAGES IN OTHER CITIES IN PERU (NOT LISTED)
GENERAL CONDITIONS:
– Prices for tour packages are in USD (US dollars).
– This document is simply a quote; we cannot guarantee availability until services are confirmed.
– JD Adventure Travel reserves the right to modify the itinerary in case of force majeure to ensure the safety of our clients.
– The tour itinerary may be modified on holidays.
– Hotel rates do not include IGV (Peruvian sales tax). Foreigners (non-residents of Peru) are exempt from this tax. To request the exemption, it is necessary to present a copy of your passport along with the entry stamp to Peru and the Andean Migration Card, which is given to you on the plane upon arrival in the country and is stamped by the Immigration Services representative at the airport.
– The yellow fever vaccine is the main preventive measure recommended (almost mandatory in practice) by the Ministry of Health (MINSA) for travel to the Peruvian Amazon, as it is a high-risk area. It must be administered at least 10 days before travel to be effective and offers lifelong protection.
Important Details:
- High-risk areas: These include Loreto, Madre de Dios, San Martín, Ucayali, Amazonas, and jungle areas in Junín, Ayacucho, Cusco, Pasco, and Huánuco.
- Vaccination: It is free at MINSA health centers. Upon vaccination, you will receive a certificate that you should carry with you.
- Other recommended vaccines: Typhoid, Hepatitis A, Tetanus-diphtheria, and in certain cases, Rabies.
- Additional prevention: Use insect repellent, mosquito nets, and clothing that covers your limbs to avoid mosquito bites.
– We accept VISA, MasterCard, American Express, and Diners Club. We do not charge commissions.
TO CONFIRM A RESERVATION:
To confirm a reservation, we need the following information:
- Full name
- Passport number and nationality
- Date of birth
- Accommodation type (single room, double room, twin room, triple room)
- Meal type included (breakfast, lunch, dinner)
- Itinerary of planned or desired connections or transfers
- Copy of passport.
To guarantee a reservation, a non-refundable deposit of 50% of the total cost of the booked tour per person is required.
To reserve a seat, all tickets, both local and domestic, must be paid in advance.
The full payment or the remaining balance must be paid between 45 and 30 days before the tour date.
Full payment is required if the reservation is made 60 days or less before departure.
CUSTOMER CANCELLATION:
Any cancellation by the Customer must be made in writing and confirmed in writing by JD Adventure Travel at info@jd-adventure.com. The date on which JD Adventure or its Travel Advisors receive the cancellation request will determine the applicable cancellation fees.
4. FOR SHORE EXCURSIONS ONLY FROM THE PORT OF SALAVERRY IN TRUJILLO
Regarding cruises, our policies are very strict, as all port operations are carried out in advance and payments to the relevant institutions are 100%, with no possibility of refund.
Payment must be made in full at least 25 days prior to the ship’s arrival date.
The failure of a vessel to arrive at the port of Salaverry due to abnormal sea conditions is beyond our responsibility.
A refund will be issued if we notify you 18 days prior to the ship’s arrival, and 70% of the total deposit will be retained to cover pre-operational expenses for the cruise.
If passengers/clients do not show up for the excursion at the agreed-upon time, NO REFUND WILL BE ISSUED. Occasionally, access to the port is complicated for our vehicles due to competition from other wholesale companies operating in the area. Therefore, we are sometimes denied access, and the only alternative is for passengers to board outside the port. This inconvenience is infrequent, but we are informing you of it.
Note: If you are booking an excursion from the Port of Callao, please read the general Terms and Conditions for that type of service, which are listed at the beginning, as they differ significantly from those applicable to this tour.
